This oven roasted figs (with nuts and capers) recipe keeps things simple and healthy. And you probably know how much I love that ! You can adjust this vegan dish and make it vegetarian too ! A lot of options here!
That being said, this roasted figs recipe is what I use to call ‘real food’ or ‘pure healthy food’! It is so savory and delicate. To be honest, this delicious roasted figs are inspired by my fantastic holidays last summer in Cyprus (with tons of figs you could pick up directly from the trees).
And for me, I personally find that the sweetness of the figs is even better when I roast them.
On top of that, combining them with the sour of capers and the crunch of pistachios and pine nuts make them burst with flavors and textures.
I definitely love to serve these figs as a starter to share with friends for summer holidays or summer break.
Any lovely variations?
This tasty dish is a totally salty sweet option and is full of vitamins.
Sometimes, I add some arugula (for its peppery flavor) on top of it.
For a vegetarian option, I love to sprinkle some feta cheese or ricotta on top of those delicious roasted figs.
Top Tip
You can not go wrong with pistachios because they have vitamin E, iron, copper, and B vitamins.
I use pistachios sweet or savory and I usually add them into unexpected dishes : Raw Pistachio Tartelettes or Cantaloupe and Roasted Eggplants recipe.
I (and especially the kids) love them for their nutrients, crunchy texture and amazing taste.
Healthy roasted figs, nuts and caper and…
Sweet and sour, flavorful, crunchy and delightful !
