Raw Cacao Banana Smoothie Recipe (Caramel Style)

2 delicious raw cacao banana smoothie

My delicious raw cacao banana smoothie is for any time of the day. Make it for a kid’s after-school snack, a delicious healthy breakfast, or a quick on-the-go snack. Because it’s a 5-minute smoothie, with only 5 ingredients to blend altogether and that tastes like caramel.

Furthermore, this raw cacao banana smoothie is ideal to fix any chocolate cravings.

It’s wonderfully smooth, rich, and full of good ingredients like banana, almond butter, raw cacao powder, lucuma powder, and vegetal milk (hazelnut is perfect).

Because of the banana and the lucuma powder, you don’t need to add any sweetener and this superfood smoothie recipe will bring you what you need for the journey ahead or before workout.

What is lucuma powder?

Lucuma is a fruit from South America (native to Peru). You can probably find it fresh where it is harvested, but otherwise, you’ll find it in the form of powder (the fruit will be dehydrated first and reduced into powder). It has a lovely sweet and nutty taste (close to caramel).

Thanks to the lucuma combined with the banana, you don’t need to add any sweetener to this smoothie. It is just magic powder and it is a great alternative to sugar.

Lovely options

Finally, I have chosen hazelnut milk in this recipe because it’s my favorite combo with raw cacao powder. But you could use any other vegetal milk that you like or that you have handy.

And, I like to add almond butter too for its flavor and benefits. It is a great source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Again, it is a versatile smoothie recipe and you could swap almond butter for peanut or cashew butter.

Easy recipe.

Top Tip about the benefits of raw cacao powder and lucuma powder

Raw cacao powder (pure, nothing added) is well-known to offer incredible health benefits and is low in calories. It contains with magnesium, zinc, iron, calcium, omega 6 etc… and it is so tasty ! I love to sprinkle my fruits or add raw cacao to my granola recipe or cookies (raw chocolate chia cookies).

Lucuma powder as already mentioned above adds a delicious caramel taste to this smoothie. It’s well-known to be full of beta-carotene, vitamin B3, calcium, protein, etc… And again, it’s low in calories too.
