Hot Cinnamon Chocolate, Self-Care In A Mug

This hot cinnamon chocolate is something I need during winter, especially when I cuddle near my fireplace in France. It is some self care in a mug. Sometimes, especially with cold weather, it has to be hot chocolate, right? Kids love it as well.

This delicious hot chocolate fixes chocolate cravings too. So, it is my favorite.

All you need are these 3 healthy ingredients : non dairy milk, organic dark chocolate (if possible vegan) and cinnamon. Because you pick the chocolate you like, you choose amongst the best one.

This recipe is for example perfect with BARE chocolate which is an organic and fairtrade chocolate brand in Bahrain (why not trying to find your local fairtrade brand wherever you are).

Because chocolate is the new black, enjoy this hot chocolate with some fondant au chocolat (gluten free cake) or with my crunchy raw chocolate chia cookies. 

It is such a simple recipe, but it’s a winner for Christmas season! I didn’t add any refined sugar or sweetener to this hot chocolate recipe. And it’s practically an INSTANT recipe. Nothing beats this one.

Top Tip

In this healthy hot chocolate recipe, cinnamon is a great addition. Because cinnamon is a superfood and has a sweet and savory flavor. For this reason, you don’t need to sweeten your hot chocolate mug.

And cinnamon seems to help control insulin levels. The spice aids to alter the metabolism of sugar and carbohydrates too. It supports your body to use your carbohydrate storage, so that they do not turn into excess fat.

Always go for Ceylan cinnamon (known as the true cinnamon) as it has the more benefits.

A simple but so tasty hot chocolate recipe and it's healthy ! Made in few minutes. 3 ingredients only !

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups plant-based milk of your choice - (almond milk)
  • 30 gr ORGANIC dark chocolate - (vegan)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  • In a small sauce pan over low heat, whisk together and continuously the milk and chocolate until the chocolate is melted and you reach a smooth texture.
  • Stir in the cinnamon and whisk again until well combined.
  • Enjoy it warm !
