Sometimes it has to be ketchup, right?! Basketball season is on and many other games too, so we need some good sauce snack ideas. And this “tomato sauce” is actually a healthy vegan cherry tomato ketchup, homemade and without any refined sugar or preservatives.
This vegan tomato sauce or ketchup is so tasty thanks to the herbs and the cherry tomatoes (they call them also baby tomatoes) that are juicy, one of nature’s sweetest foods. For more flavor, I add apple cider vinegar, some tomato paste (I always go for organic and without any sugar added), honey, onion, and garlic.
How to make this healthy ketchup a flavor party in your mouth?
The key is to sauté garlic, onion, and juicy baby tomatoes to create an explosion of flavors. Once it is cooked, I pulse it (using a food processor) with dried tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, honey, and spices to make this scrumptious and creamy ketchup.
It goes with everything. And it is kids approved. So it is like woah.
Healthy ideas to combine with this healthy vegan cherry tomato ketchup
I love to use it as a dip with my GF multi seeds crackers or even my healthy carrot crackers.
And more than everything, I love to use it with my Belgian fries recipe, the healthy way.
Top Tip
Cherry tomatoes are miniature versions of traditional beefsteak tomatoes, but they are equally as nutritious. They are a good source of vitamin C, potassium and manganese !
And by the way, in a jar or an airtight container, you can keep the ketchup for up to 1 weeks in the fridge. That’s fantastic !
