What is your blog about?

Live and Taste is your go-to destination for innovative but easy plant-based recipes. I’m passionate about crafting delicious, nutritious meals that are effortless to prepare and enjoyed by the whole family. My culinary adventures are inspired by the desire to make healthy eating exciting and accessible, especially for busy households with growing teenagers.

What is a plant-based diet anyway?

It is difficult to find a clear definition. Some plant-based diets include meat, while others contain seafood and some plant-based eaters follow a strict vegan diet eating only plant foods (no animal). 

According to Dr. Shireen Kassam from plant-based health Professionals, “The term plant-based diet means that you are eating a diet that is predominantly based around the consumption of fruits, vegetables, wholegrain, beans, nuts, and seeds. Are you strictly plant-based?

Yes! My amazing plant-based journey began in 2012 after having 2 wonderful children. I started with a vegetarian diet and transitioned to a full plant-based one. It’s been incredible how much better I feel, especially as I’ve navigated the challenges of early menopause in my 40s.

What do you eat?

I have totally removed from my diet refined sugar, dairy, and refined food (for instance bread, white pasta, and white rice). I have considerably reduced the amount of gluten I eat along with the amount of processed food. My diet is mainly all types of vegetables, fruits, pulses, nuts, seeds, oils, herbs, and whole food. And my food blog contains exciting plant-based meals and desserts.

What’s with the name Live and Taste?

As a passionate foodie, I’ve always been drawn to the culinary delights of the world. My travels have been full of fantastic discovery, particularly when it comes to exploring the vibrant realm of plant-based cuisine. Embracing a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor. In fact, I believe that living a fulfilling life is synonymous with indulging in tasty, nutritious meals.

Live and Taste is a testament to this philosophy and a plant-based lifestyle.

My grocery shopping can be a global adventure. Whether I’m exploring local farmers’ markets, stocking up at organic stores, or browsing online, I’ve found that the ingredients I need are always within reach.
