This colorful blueberry smoothie bowl is so delicious and full of goodness. This type of bowl makes you feel GOOD and it is a 10 minutes recipe.

Smoothie bowls are one of my favorite go to breakfast with this warm weather as they are mainly made with at least 1 frozen fruit or vegetable. And it’s for me an all year long breakfast actually as I live in the Middle East.

This colorful blueberry smoothie bowl is as well a great alternative if you are looking for gluten free and non dairy breakfast dish. The blueberries and acai powder are giving a deep purple color to this bowl (and a lot of nutrients too). It is easy to make it beautiful and appealing : top it with dried coconut, chia seeds, goji berry and roasted cashew nuts.

This smoothie bowl recipe is refreshing, nourishing and a perfect pre-workout meal too, especially with the acai powder ! You’ll notice that all healthy cafe offers an “acai” bowl, so now it’s time to make your own.

The fresh fruits give you a vitamin boost for the day, so play with seasonal fruits and superfood here!

What are the ingredients?

This delicious tasty smoothie bowl is actually made of :

2 frozen bananas,

1 and 1/2 cups of fresh blueberries,

a bit of non dairy milk and

1 to 2 tablespoon of Acai powder.

How to freeze your banana for your smoothie bowl?

Each time I have ripe banana on the counter in my kitchen, I freeze them. Ripe bananas are the best to sweeten your bowl without adding any sweetener.

First, I peel the bananas, then I slice them into roughly 1-inch chunks. I transfer the slices to an airtight container or a plastic bag and I freeze them overnight or for 2 to 3 weeks. The best is to use one small plastic bag per banana. So whenever I need a frozen banana I pick up one packet and I place it into my blender. So it’s easy to know the quantity.

Top Tip

I definitely love acai for its incredible properties and its berry taste.

Acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber and healthy fats. It seems that they have more antioxidant content than other common berries. They are famous as an immune-stimulating and energy-boosting fruit.

The acai berries are found in the rain forest of Amazonas.

You can buy it in the organic section of any supermarket or on iHerb. I know it is available as fruits, powder or sometimes as frozen puree. I love to use acai powder for its intensity flavour !

INGREDIENTS

SMOOTHIE BOWL

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 ½ cups blueberries
  • 1-2 tbsp rice milk
  • 1-2 tbsp acai powder

TOPPING

  • Few chia seeds, coconut chips, goji berry, roasted cashew nuts

INSTRUCTIONS

BOWL

  • Place all the bowl’s ingredients into a blender and blend until creamy.
  • Pour it into your favorite bowl.

TOPPING

  • Top your bowl with your favorite fruits and superfoods, like chia seeds, coconut chips, goji berry, roasted cashew nuts.
