Sweet Chocolate Blood Oranges Slices

Chocolate Blood Orange Slices - Easy recipe and a perfect dessert. Surprisingly sweet, flavorful and scrumptious. #vegan #sweet #dessert #bloodorange #rawchocolate //liveandtaste.com

I have a love affair with these chocolate blood orange slices (and non guilty). This recipe is completely insane. How can it be so good?

Does orangettes ring a bell?

I taught of creating this recipe because it somehow reminds me the “orangettes”. It’s something you can find in candy shops in Belgium, made of orange zest and covered in chocolate (but full of refined sugar and butter). It is probably close to candied oranges. And it looks like a chocolate stick.

Best ingredients

The lovely recipe here is made out of blood orange slices with homemade chocolate. It has only the best and healthy ingredients, Be sure, it tastes even much better !!

Thanks to the blood oranges, it’s more sweet and less bitter ! And if you add a hint of salt flakes and some cacao nibs on top, this treat is heaven !

Orange and chocolate is definitely an incredible combination of flavors. It makes the healthiest candy to eat. You will love it too !!!

How on earth do I make chocolate at home?

It is a combination of raw cacao, coconut oil and maple syrup that you warm and mix together over bain-marie (over boiling water).

Nothing more. Isn’t it magical?

Top Tip

Why do I love blood oranges that much?!

First of all, they are sweeter than regular oranges and have less bitterness and acidity. On the other side, they are still high in vitamin C, potassium and fiber, plus they have the added benefit of “anthocyanins” that give them that intense color and antioxidants properties.

You can eat them the way you do regular oranges ! Or… you can try my chocolate blood orange slices for an extra twist.

Check as well my other recipes with orange like Pumpkin Orange Salad or Orange Smoothie. They will be a hit too if you switch the regular oranges for the blood oranges. Imagine the color.

This is my kind of food !

What brand do I use for raw cacao powder?

The truth is that I love the raw cacao from https://www.koro-shop.co.uk.

Be careful you buy pure raw cacao without any additions (sugar, etc..).

Healthy sweet chocolate blood orange slices and…

Treat from heaven, chocolaty, sweet-bitter twist !
