This blueberry smoothie recipe is definitely one of my favorite. It is so smooth and creamy. There is only 6 ingredients and it is a power smoothie that keeps you full for hours. In this recipe, I blend blueberries, banana, fresh oranges, water, milk. I like to add some maca powder too but feel free to add another superfood to this lovely smoothie.

This blueberry smoothie is packed with antioxidants and is high in vitamin C to help the natural defense of your body. It helps to improve your workout and to prevent muscle damage.

Definitely, it’s a winner, with a sweet burst of berry flavor !

Top Tip about maca powder

I love maca powder for its nutty taste. It is actually one of my favorite superfood. Maca is a root that reminds me the shape of a turnip.

Maca is rich in vitamins B, C and E. It contains calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and amino acids. It may increase your energy level and has a ton of health benefits. For me the best benefit from maca, it is that it balances the hormones.

It’s most commonly available in powder and sometimes called “Peruvian ginseng”.

What blender is the best for my blueberry smoothie recipe or any other smoothie?

I know that Nutribullet works very well if you are on a budget.

Personally I am a big fan of Vitamix as I discover its top quality blending. I have one at home and one in my holiday place. It was so far the best investment I have ever done.

If you tend to eat more plant-based food, I would recommend to invest in a high speed blender.

To be honest, I didn’t like my homemade smoothie before I had my high speed blender.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 2 oranges, seeded and peeled
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cashew milk
  • 1 tbsp maca powder

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Place all the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth !
