If you are tired of store-bought and expensive nut butter filled with additives and unhealthy oils, this recipe is for you. This homemade cashew and pecan butter is the answer to your nutty cravings.
First step is roasting your nuts
You need to know a few things about nuts first. Some nuts have more natural oils than others and are easier to turn into nut butter. Peanuts, macadamia, and cashew nuts have more natural oil ad turn into nut butter very easily.
In this 2 ingredients recipe, by roasting the nuts in the oven (or in a pan) you help to pull out the oils, meaning that you help the process of making nut butter. This is for all nuts.
I usually roast cashews and pecans for 10 to 13 minutes in a preheated oven at 165 degrees. Last but not least, let your nuts cool down before pulsing in a food processor (to avoid over heating) and again to help the process of making this delicious nut butter with cashew and pecan.
What is the process ?
Once roasted, you can add all the nuts into a food processor and start to pulse. First your nuts will turn into powder, then into a crumble.
Finally, they will form a ball, right before becoming smooth and liquid as a delicious nut butter should be.
